Mr. Gagandeep Kumar of Kathua’s Kharote village who clinched Bronze Medal in recently held National Games was honoured by people of Kathua today.
It is pertinent to mention here that the 38th National Games were organized in Dehradun, Uttrakhand from 28th January to 14th February, 2025 and Gagandeep Kumar clinched Bronze Medal in Net Ball event. He was accorded ceremonial welcome on arrival at Kathua Railway Station by enthusiastic family members and youth of Kathua.
He called on MLA Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan who honoured him on his accomplishment at the national level. Gagandeep Kumar’s father Sudesh Kumar is serving soldier in Assam Riffles and has been motivating force behind his success.
National Bronze Medalist Gagandeep who is a member of Kathua Athletic club, attributed his success to coach Ravi Jassal and J&K Union Territory Coach Akash Batra.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan, MLA , Kathua while speaking on the occasion said that it is a proud moment for Kathua in particular and J&K in general that a youth with humble background has shined at National level and wished Gagandeep success in future endeavours.
