MLA Kathua lays foundation of 4.5 crore drinking water scheme for Lakhanpur

Member Legislative Assembly Kathua Dr. Bharat Bhushan along with DDC Vice Chairman, Raghunandan Singh Bablu today started an ambitious drinking water project for Lakhanpur town having an allocation of 4.5 crores.
         MLA Kathua Dr. Bharat Bhushan while speaking on the occasion told the gathering that this project having an allocation of four crore & fifty lakhs will prove as a game changer for Lakhanpur town which is the third largest town after Kathua and Nagri in Kathua Assembly Constituency. 
To be executed under Amrut-2.0 component of Jal Jeevan Mission, this scheme envisages construction of one DeepTube Well & two Over Head tanks (OHTs).  Besides the scheme has provision for laying fresh pipes and new water connections will be provided to the inhabitants of the town. He further told that the scheme will be completed in nine months & the executing agency will be responsible for operation & maintenance of the scheme for next five years. When completed, this scheme will cater to the safe drinking water requirement of Lakhanpur  town upto the year, 2040.
     MLA stressed on quality execution of the work & directed for completing the mega project in the prescribed time line. He told that this project will not only meet the present safe drinking water requirement of the town but also meet future requirements. 
The Executive Engineer, Public Health Engineering Department Division Kathua Sh. Girdhari Lal Gupta , Block Development Officer, Keerian, Sakriti Koul, AEE Himanshu Verma, EO Municipal Committee Lakhanpur, Prthvi Raj Sangra, , JEs,  Former Presidents of Lakhanpur Municpal Committee, Ravinder Sharma,  Kaka Ram & Surmu Din , Mandal Pardhan Suman Devi ,President Minority Morcha Sr. Shingara Singh, former Councilors Kathua Rahul Dev Sharma and  Anirudh Sharma, former Sarpanch Dilawar Singh, former Naib Sarpanch Capt. Pawan Sharma,  Youth Leader Amit Sudan, Bhanu Partap, Akshay Bharti & a large number of  Lakhanpur  residents were present on the occasion.
