Handing over ceremony of engagement orders to 72 newly appointed sanginis, sahayikas held at Kathua

Kathua, August 05: District Administration Kathua hosted a handing over ceremony where engagement orders to newly selected Sanginis and Sahayikas in different POSHAN projects of the district besides retro fitted scooties among specially abled persons were distributed here at conference hall of DC office complex.
The programme was part of a mega event held at SKICC, Srinagar wherein Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha presided over the handing over ceremony of all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir virtually.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rakesh Minhas, DDC Vice Chairman Raghunandan Singh, PO ICDS Kathua Dr Basharat Hussain, ADC Kathua Ranjit Singh, CPO Kathua Uttam Singh, DSWO Kathua Abdul Rahim and other district officers were also present.
During the event, the DC Kathua alongwith Vice Chairman DDC handed over 72 engagement orders comprising 50 newly appointed Sanginis and 22 Sahayikas placed in Poshan projects of Duggan, Hiranagar and Barnoti.
A total of 10 Retro Fitted scooties were also distributed among the specially abled persons under Distribution of Motorised Tricycle scheme through Rehabilitation Council of Social Welfare department.
While speaking on the occasion, the DC Kathua said the engagement of Sanginis and Sahiykas in different poshan projects of the district has been completed in a free, fair and transparent manner so as to provide necessary human resource in Anganwadi centres. He said these centres are playing an important role in catering the nutritional needs of children below three years and lactating mothers.
Regarding the distribution of Retro fitted scooties among specially abled persons, the DC said the scheme of the Social Welfare department is playing a key role in empowering them and making them self reliant. He added that a total of 143 beneficiaries having disability of over 40% have been sanctioned in the district and out of which 10 beneficiaries were given Retro fitted scooties in the first phase today.
VC DDC Kathua Raghunandan Singh appealed the newly engaged sahayikas and sanginis to work with utmost dedication, further appealed specially abled beneficiaries to avail this opportunity to empower themselves as government is providing ample avenues of becoming self reliant and self sufficient.
