Digital J&K Week Program cum Block Diwas Kicks Off with Enthusiastic Participation in Hiranagar Subdivision
 
BDC Chairperson flags off Mobile Digital Van to disseminate the message of Digital Transformation
 
Kathua, August 31: District Administration Kathua today hosted the inaugural event under the Digital J&K Week-2023 celebrations at GDC Hiranagar which witnessed enthusiastic participation of people from all walks of life.
 
The event began with a live telecast of inauguration of Digital J&K Week by Chief Secretary J&K Arun Kumar Mehta Virtually. The proceedings were attended by officers and Officials of district administration Kathua virtually besides a large number of people at Hiranagar.
 
At GDC Hiranagar, as many as 37 stalls were put up by different line departments, agencies, banks etc to create public awareness about over 1000 online services launched by the government.
 
The week-long event will showcase citizen centric IT initiatives that have helped in bringing about greater transparency in governance and ease of living for citizens besides generating awareness about digital solutions and new technologies.
 
BDC Chairperson Hiranagar, Ram Lal Kalia, ADDC Ankur Mahajan, ADC Kathua Ranjeet Singh, SDM Hiranagar Manisha Koul and other district sectoral officers attended the inaugural day event.
 
The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for visit of school and college students to acquaint them with the saga of digital transformation that Jammu & Kashmir has achieved besides inspiring them to contribute towards making a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.
 
On the occasion, BDC Chairperson Ram Lal Kalia flagged off a Mobile Van to spread the message of digital transformation across the district.
 
Earlier, a theme based Nukkad Natak was presented by the local artists to aware and encourage the masses to avail array of online services being offered by the government to ease the lives of citizens.
 
Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC said that the Digital Week Program Cum Block Diwas is a testament of the administration's concerted efforts to bridge the gap between technology and governance while putting the concerns of the citizens at the forefront.
 
While interacting with the public, ADDC also gave a patient hearing to all the demands and grievances and assured that all issues shall be taken with the concerned authorities for their timely redressal. She urged upon them to play an active part in the development process so that inclusive and public oriented projects and schemes are framed in larger public interest.
 
The ADDC also assured PRIs and others that the issues and demands that they have put forth and registered will be seriously looked into.
 
On the occasion, beneficiaries of different schemes of the government expressed their gratitude towards the government for providing door step delivery of services by organizing this awareness cum public service delivery programme at Hiranagar.
 
Moreover, the ADDC also gave on spot directions for redressal of many issues.
 
Pertinently, the Week long event will take place across all Sub Divisions of the District for which the District Administration has already issued a detailed schedule for the events commencing from 31 Aug-01 Sept at Hiranagar, 02 Sept at Billawar, 04 Sept at Basohli, 05 Sept at Bani and culminating on 06 Sept at Kathua to ensure that the Digital J&K Week Celebration reaches every corner of the District, maximizing its impact and accessibility.
