Kathua, July 15: Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rakesh Minhas chaired a meeting of stakeholder departments to review the progress achieved under Holistic Agriculture Development Plan in the district, in the Conference Hall of DC Office here today.
It was given out in the meeting that 12 phases of Kissan Sampark Abhiyan has been completed successfully in phased manner wherein farmers were acquainted with latest schemes of agriculture and allied departments, newest of initiatives launched by the government for farming community.
The meeting discussed in length the progress made in the issuance of Kissan Credit Cards (KCC) and other handholding efforts mandated to the stakeholder departments for saturating the welfare schemes and initiatives of the government.
While addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Minhas said that the district administration is committed for supporting farmers and ensuring their success. He urged the banks to ensure that the loans are sanctioned and disbursed in a timely manner to facilitate the farmers in their agricultural activities.
The DC also reviewed the number of participants attending the Kisan Sampark Abhiyan in the district, and directed the Nodal Officer to ensure that maximum farmers should attend the program.
The DC said that the HADP initiative is a major step towards creating a sustainable and profitable agricultural ecosystem. The programme aims to empower farmers with knowledge and tools that can help them enhance their productivity and profitability while also contributing to the overall growth of the agriculture sector.
The DC also emphasized the importance of speedy sanctioning of loans under agriculture and other allied departmental schemes.
The programme also provides a platform to the farmers to interact with experts from the Agriculture Department and seek their advice on various aspects of farming, such as crop selection, soil management, pest control, and irrigation methods.
Deputy Commissioner sought information regarding the funds released for the projects and progress made in respect of these projects.
CPO, ACD, ACR, CAO, CHO, CSHO, CAHO, DDM NABARD, Lead Bank Manager, AD Fisheries, Dy Registrar Cooperatives and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
