KATHUA; 14 SEP: In its another breakthrough  against illicit liquor menace in the District, Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Sh. R C Kotwal- JKPS today seized approx.  40 litres of illicit liquor alongwith 01 lady was arrested in the jurisdictional area of PS Kathua near Nagri Parole area.

On 13.09.2022 an information was  received from  the reliable source that illicit liquor  is manufactured near Nagri Parole and the  adjoining  areas of PS  Kathua.Acting swiftly, the police team  led by Insp. Balram Sharma IC PP Nagri under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua Sh. Shammi Kumar JKPS during special checking/ patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area noticed one suspicious lady who was doing the trade of selling illicit liquor to people in order to gain illegitimate profit.On physical checking approximately 40 litres of illicit liquor was recovered from the illegal possession of one lady namely Madvi W/o Vicky  R/o Dadoli Tehsil Nagri & District Kathua.Thereafter all the recovered consignment of illicit liquor (approx. 40 litres) was seized and 01lady was arrested on spot.On these a case vide FIR No'. 358/2022 U/S 48(a) Excise Act  has been registered at PS Kathua and further investigation into this matter has been set into motion.
