NHPC Sewa-II gives Ex-gratia to families of deceased labourers.

Kathua Update Desk-
25th March 2022.
Sewa-II Power Station Mashka faced a massive challenge last year owing to the reconstruction of the damaged portion of Head Race Tunnel. The said work was completed in a record time but unfortunately three contract labourers, employed by the Sub-contractors of NHPC, lost their lives in various accidents on different occasions. Three workers namely Late Sh. Bag Hussain belonged to Bani, Late Sh. Lakhan Kumar belonged to Kangra and late Sh. Chhuku Soren had come from Jharkhand.

Standing up to its strong legacy of Social commitments, the top management of NHPC approved an ex-gratia amount of Rs. 5 lakh each for the legal heirs of deceased labourers. All three were employed by the sub-contractor for a short duration of work and the Ex-gratia  provided by NHPC is  over & above all labour law compliances & responsibilities of the sub-contractor.
In a modest program organised by Sewa-II PS the family members of the deceased labourers were welcomed by Shri S Adhikari, GGM (I/C), at Sewa-II and were given their cheques in the gracious presence of SDM Bani, Sh. Joginder Singh Jasrotia. Shri Adhikari acknowledged the sacrifice of the labourers and offered his words of solace & empathy towards the loss suffered by the family members.
The family members profusely thanked NHPC and SDM saab urged them to make good use of the financial support provided by NHPC.
