 KATHUA POLICE NABBED 02 DRUG PEDDLERS WITH APPROX. 13.912 KG's OF  POPPY STRAW (PHUKKI) LIKE NARCOTICS; 01 VEHICLE SEIZED.

KATHUA; 16  FEB; Kathua Police while continuing its "War on Drugs" putting  concrete efforts to eradicate the drugs menace from the society and in consequence District Police Kathua today recovered approx. 13.912 Kilograms of Poppy Straw(Phukki)  like narcotics  near Galak Naka, 01 vehicle seized and 02 persons were arrested in this connection.

On the overall directions of SSP Kathua, Sh. R.C Kotwal -JKPS, on 16.02.2022 a police team led by PSI Ravinder Thakur IC PP Ramkot under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Sh. Arvind Kumar JKPS  during Naka checking duty at Galak  noticed one  suspicious  vehicle (Truck) bearing  Reg. No. PB10HJ-1635 which was being driven by a person  namely Jasvinder Singh S/o Yoga Singh R/o Ward No. 05 Chanderlok Colony District Ludhiana who was alongwith his accomplice namely Ramesh S/o Prem Chand R/o Ghoat Tehsil Ramnagar  was  enrouted  from Udhampur side  towards Dyalachak was signalled to stop for checking.On thorough checking, approximately 13.912 kilograms of Poppy Straw(Phukki) like narcotics was recovered from their illegal possession. Meanwhile two persons were arrested and  all the recovered narcotics substance alongwith vehicle was sezied on spot. On this ,a  case FIR No. 21/2022 U/S 8/15/29/ NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Billawar and further investigation is under process.
