KU News Desk, January 24: A colorful and vibrant full dress rehearsal was conducted at District Sports Stadium Kathua in view of the Republic Day Celebrations, 2020.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Atul Gupta hoisted the National Flag and took salute from the march past comprising of 46 contingents from CRPF, District Police, Police Training School, NCC boys and girls and tiny platoons of boys and girls from different government as well as private educational institutions.
While addressing the gathering Additional Deputy Commissioner invoked the supreme sacrifices laid down by our freedom fighters and their contributions in freedom struggle. He said Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into force and we must learn, study and understand the most important document of the Indian society, adhere to the rules and recognize the fundamental rights. He called upon the celebration committees to ensure that programme is organized in befitting manner.
He also said that it is high time that everyone must try to perform his duties towards the nation to enjoy the rights enshrined in our constitution.
Number of school children from Government and Private educational institutes presented scintillating and colorful cultural programmes including traditional folk songs.
It is pertinent to mention that the 71st Republic Day will be celebrated on 26thJanuary, 2020 at District Sports Stadium where Deputy Commissioner, O P Bhagat will be the Chief Guest and unfurl the National Flag.
SSP, Shridhar Patil, ASP, Ramnish Gupta, CEO, District Officers and Principals of Government and Private schools and large number of students attended the full dress rehearsal.
